What is Myasthenia?
Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is a disease that makes your muscles weak. It happens because your body’s defense system attacks the connection between your nerves and muscles. This causes trouble with muscles you use to move, talk, see, chew, and breathe. The weakness gets worse when you use your muscles a lot and gets better when you rest. MG can happen to anyone but it’s more common in young women and older men. It is not caught from other people and does not run in families.
