What is Parkinson’s Disease ?
Parkinson’s Disease is a condition that slowly affects how your body moves. It happens when some cells in the brain stop working the way they should, especially the ones that help you move smoothly and easily. These cells make a chemical called dopamine, which helps control movement. When there isn’t enough of it, things like walking, writing, or even talking can become harder over time.
You might begin to feel or see things like:
- A slight shake or tremor in their hands or fingers
- Moving more slowly than usual
- Feeling stiff or rigid in their arms or legs
- Trouble with balance or walking steadily
- Changes in handwriting or speech
